Nutella Banana Pizza

I love Nutella but I rarely buy it for myself, now I am back to it celebrating the returnback of my 19 year old son who was way from home studying abroad. I guess this is a legal excuse for me to indulge and create a Nutella based dessertwink. He is a Nutella lover and missed homemade sweets.

Have you ever tried a sweet pizza? If not and would love to, here is a seriously great recipe. It all starts with a home-made dough that neither involves dried yeast nor does it require a rest time. Looks awesome, right? And it tastes great! It is soft, delicious and definitely a keeper! There is a secret ingredient in the dough. It is the cream cheese. Yes cream cheese adds another dimension of flavor and texture to the dough.

Once you prepare the dough, press it in a pizza pan or even an iron skillet, bake it, then smother a generous amount of Nutella on top, layer the sliced bananas almost covering the Nutella and bake for 10 minutes just to half cook the bananas. Decorate with chopped raw pistachios or chopped toasted hazelnuts! And that’s it. It was big hit and my son was blown away by the taste

In a large bowl, combine together the flour, baking powder, salt sugar, oil, milk and cream cheese

mix well and knead to obtain a manageable ball of dough.

Grease a round 34 cm/ 13 inches pizza pan with 2 tablespoons of oil; using the palm of your hand, press the ball dough equally around the pan, pressing it slightly to cover the pan. Prick it all over with a fork.

Bake in the oven to a slightly golden color. Remove from the oven and generously spread the Nutella, almost covering the surface.

Place the banana slices on top

Bake for further 10-12 minutes to half cook the bananas.
