A simple soy-black peppercorn marinade that will add a whole other dimension to your steak and makes it taste better. Serve it with French fries or mashed potatoes and a green salad on the side. Description
A simple soy-black peppercorn marinade that will add a whole other dimension to your steak and makes it taste better. Serve it with French fries or mashed potatoes and a green salad on the side.
Ingredients
- 1 kg/2lb. 4 oz. entrecote or sirloin steaks about 5 pieces
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons canola oil
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup mushroom of your choice
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon black peppercorns freshly crushed
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the steaks, soy sauce, crushed black peppercorns and oil. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the steaks with the marinade, sprinkle salt and cook on both sides to the degree of your preference.
- Transfer the steaks onto a serving a dish.
- Add the flour to the same skillet and whisk incorporating the flour with the sauce.
- Add the water and continue whisking until it starts boiling and thickening.
- Stir the mushrooms and pour the sauce over the steaks.
