A simple soy-black peppercorn marinade that will add a whole other dimension to your steak and makes it taste better. Serve it with French fries or mashed potatoes and a green salad on the side.
Ingredients
1kg/2lb. 4 oz. entrecote or sirloin steaksabout 5 pieces
3tablespoonssoy sauce
3tablespoonscanola oil
3tablespoonsbutter
1tablespoonflour
1cupwater
1cupmushroom of your choice
½teaspoonsalt
1tablespoonblack peppercornsfreshly crushed
Instructions
In a bowl, mix the steaks, soy sauce, crushed black peppercorns and oil. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the steaks with the marinade, sprinkle salt and cook on both sides to the degree of your preference.
Transfer the steaks onto a serving a dish.
Add the flour to the same skillet and whisk incorporating the flour with the sauce.
Add the water and continue whisking until it starts boiling and thickening.
Stir the mushrooms and pour the sauce over the steaks.
