Banana Date Smoothie

Ramadan is a few days away and Muslims around the world will be fasting in observance of the holy month. I guess smoothies are a great option to break your fast with. The good news is that no refined sugar is involved here; but still I am not talking about a skinny smoothie, dates and bananas have a sufficient amount of natural sugar, and dates are a common Ramadan fruit that pack loads of health benefits, they are rich in fibers, potassium, magnesium and calcium. Fasting can cause low blood sugar, and dates can help restore it back and provide you with immediate source of energy.

The little amount of oats adds more fiber and makes it even healthier.  Break your fast with the banana date smoothie or even serve it for suhoor as a light meal.   Feel free to add less milk for a heavier consistency. I like mine thin, especially for iftar.  This is easy to make and also good for you. Ramadan mubarak to all!
