  • Each of these recipes is a true labor of love that was created at home, in my own kitchen where I shared every bite of every recipe with my family and friends.

My cooking journey: I released my first cookbook in Arabic in April 2003. The second expanded edition came out in April 2007. The idea of translating my book to English for non- Arabic speakers was always on my mind, and that’s what made me write “Hadia, Lebanese Style Recipes”.

For many years, I have entertained dinner guests with delightful recipes where with time I acquired a reputation for being a good cook, so I began to think what it would be like to put my recipes in a book.  I started to collect the recipes after the encouragement of my husband, family and friends telling I should write a cookbook. And that’s how the journey began.

I was raised in a family where food was the source of togetherness. I grew up between my late grandmother who was an amazing cook and my mother who makes the best sweets on earth.  With those two amazing women running through my blood, it makes sense to say that I inherited their love of cooking.

I started actually to cook right after marriage, and let me tell you before that I was completely lost in the kitchen, and I never thought that I would end up with a major love for cooking and baking, and little did I then realize that how passionate I would be about cooking, or even this would be my future career. I have been cooking for more than 25 years and I had no formal culinary training, I learned from my mistakes and I am tremendously grateful. Don’t ever let anybody tell you can’t do it. Anyone can be a good cook.

The recipes are clearly written with easy instructions and stunning photos so you can look at the pictures and get inspiration. I have included many of the popular Lebanese recipes that I grew up eating as well as a vibrant melting pot of striking flavors from around the world that I discovered through my travels. My goal in this book is to make the process of cooking and baking less intimidating and more enjoyable to home cooks.  The cookbook is full of recipes that are accessible for both new and experienced home cooks, there is someting for everybody in this book! You will feel proud serving these recipes to your family and friends.

Food is a fabulous way of connecting us together. The most memorable memories are made when gathered around a dining table. It is where we spend our happiest moments. I hope you have much fun cooking from this book as much as enjoyed making it.

With my love!

Hadia
