Black Pepper Steak

Who can resist a tender steak smothered with a good sauce? I cannot resist and most probably you too. I have been making this recipe as long as I can remember. A simple soy-black peppercorn marinade that will add a whole other dimension to your steak and makes it taste better. Serve it with French fries or mashed potatoes and a green salad on the side. This one is sure to please your family and guests. Bon appetit.yes

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg/2lb. 4 oz. entrecote or sirloin steaks ( about 5 pieces)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup mushroom of your choice
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon black peppercorns, freshly crushed

 

 

 

Directions:

  1. In a bowl, mix the steaks, soy sauce, crushed black peppercorns and oil. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the steaks with the marinade, sprinkle salt and cook on both sides to the degree of your preference.
  4. Transfer the steaks onto a serving a dish.
  5. Add the flour to the same skillet and whisk incorporating the flour with the sauce.
  6. Add the water and continue whisking until it starts boiling and thickening.
  7. Stir the mushrooms and pour the sauce over the steaks.
