Who can resist a tender steak smothered with a good sauce? I cannot resist and most probably you too. I have been making this recipe as long as I can remember. A simple soy-black peppercorn marinade that will add a whole other dimension to your steak and makes it taste better. Serve it with French fries or mashed potatoes and a green salad on the side. This one is sure to please your family and guests. Bon appetit.

Description

A simple soy-black peppercorn marinade that will add a whole other dimension to your steak and makes it taste better. Serve it with French fries or mashed potatoes and a green salad on the side.

Ingredients
 

  • 1 kg/2lb. 4 oz. entrecote or sirloin steaks about 5 pieces
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup mushroom of your choice
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon black peppercorns freshly crushed

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, mix the steaks, soy sauce, crushed black peppercorns and oil. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the steaks with the marinade, sprinkle salt and cook on both sides to the degree of your preference.
  • Transfer the steaks onto a serving a dish.
  • Add the flour to the same skillet and whisk incorporating the flour with the sauce.
  • Add the water and continue whisking until it starts boiling and thickening.
  • Stir the mushrooms and pour the sauce over the steaks.
